Originally brought up in the North East, Catherine returned to the area several years ago, when she and Nigel bought the Four Wynds Guest House. Life in the Heart of Hadrian’s Wall Country with its world famous Roman Forts and the World Heritage site of the Wall has sparked Catherine’s enthusiasm for Roman History and re-kindled her interest in Latin. For her the story of this area has much more to it than just a Wall ~ it is the story of the people who lived here, their lives and their culture that makes the area so exciting. Catherine is harnessing her enthusiasms to offer a series of insightful and enjoyable guided tours as well as Latin language courses.

Catherine is a Qualified Yellow Badge Guide with The Institute of Tourist Guiding A registered Minimus and Cambridge Latin teacher, with degrees in Modern Languages Her tours are covered by third party liability insurance, she is CRB checked and she is qualified in First Aid. Catherine is also fluent in Spanish, Italian and French.
